Foie gras, a controversial delicacy out of duck liver, was
finally banned in California. All ducks must thank Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
for this good news.
This is after calls to stop the sadistic treatment of ducks.
To produce huge livers for this delicacy, ducks undergo forced overfeeding. A
tube is inserted into a duck’s long neck. The tube becomes the channel for the duck's food. Without resistance, the duck is
overfed and grow fatter. Fatter ducks produce bigger liver for the delicacy.
In other countries, campaigns were launched to make the rich
people who are fond of this French food become aware of how ducks are treated
just to come up with their good dinner.
